Mixed itinerary
Starting from the Orres station, a series of forest trails overlooking Lake Serre-Ponçon lead to the village of Pontis at the gates of the Ubaye valley.
Once at the edge of Lake Serre-Ponçon, at the location of the submerged village of Ubaye, proceed up the valley towards Barcelonnette and then Sainte-Anne La Condamine, the starting point for the Parpaillon track.
The presence of snowdrifts and ice can make crossing the Parpaillon tunnel tricky. Arriving at the village of Crévoux after a nice descent through the larch forest, take a rolling trail back to the Orres.
