The Church of Saint Charalambos was a mosque during the 2nd Turkish period of the castle of Korini (1715-1828). On the NW corner of the church you can still see a small building on which the bell tower is built, but where a minaret was built in Turkish times. The first version of this church was built in the Venetian period (1685-1715). It was not an Orthodox but a Catholic church, dedicated to Saint Roch (Rokkos), patron saint against plagues and epidemics. after the Greek revolution it became an Orthodox church.
