The Fortezza del Varignano, also known as Forte del Varignano, is a fortress and barracks complex near La Spezia in Italy. It is home to the special unit COMSUBIN of the Italian Navy.
The facility is located near the village of Le Grazie, in the municipality of Porto Venere, on the eponymous peninsula that borders the Gulf of La Spezia to the southwest. Thus, it occupies a strategically significant location that controls the entrance to the Gulf and thereby access to the La Spezia naval base.
