Church Santo Stefano - Montefioralle

The Church of Santo Stefano is a Catholic place of worship in Montefioralle, a hamlet in the commune of Greve in Chianti, in the province of Florence, within the territory of the Diocese of Fiesole.
Originally Gothic in structure, it was rebuilt between the 17th and 18th centuries with the addition of Baroque altars and underwent further refurbishments in the 19th century.
The interior, with one nave, houses several valuable works. On the first altar on the right are the Saints Michael the Archangel, Jacopo, Stephanus and Dominicus, a painting by Orazio Fidani from 1647; on the main altar is the 15th century panel depicting the Trinity and the Saints, attributed to the Master of the Epiphany of Fiesole; on the left is the panel depicting the Annunciation and the Saints, by the Master of St. Ivo and dated between 1395 and 1400; on the first altar on the left is the most valuable work placed here and it is the cuspidate panel of the Madonna and Child of the so-called Maestro di Montefioralle (to be identified by some scholars with Meliore di Jacopo), of the Florentine school and dated to the end of the 13th century.

In the company is a 17th-century wooden crucifix and a 19th-century copy of the Madonna di Porta Pinti by Andrea del Sarto.
