The Church of San Vito got its name from the old San Vito district and the street where it is located (via San Vituzzo).
It already existed in 1492 and, according to historian Ignazio de Blasi of Alcamo, was founded by a member of the Brotherhood of the Annunziata, with a hospital for the poor sick next to it. It was first restored in 1922. There is nothing old inside and today it is used by Orthodox Christians.
