The San Carlo Circuit connects the towns of the Cannobina valley and is named after San Carlo Borromeo in memory of a pastoral visit that the saint made to the valley in 1574. In Gurro, the ancient and charming “Casa San Carlo” recollects the place where the saint slept during his pastoral journey. It is an itinerary in two stages: the first from Cannobio on Lake Maggiore to Falmenta, a small village in the Cannobina Valley. The second stage is a semicircular route departing from Falmenta, reaching Cursolo (on the opposite bank of the T. Cannobino). The path mostly follows beautiful cobbled mule tracks. From Falmenta, a variant of the second stage allows you to reach Cursolo directly from Gurro, shortening the route.
