Wenum brook valley

In the Ice Age about 200,000 years ago, the Veluwe massif was created. The ice mass from the north pushed the bottom up into high moraines, including those of the Veluwe. In a later ice age, the ice did not reach what is now the Netherlands, but there was a large amount of snow on the moraine. When it got warmer, the melting snow water created shallow so-called 'snowmelt water valleys' and this is how the Wenum stream valley was created.
