Graspiepers

DMHC de Graspiepers, founded on January 29, 1960, is the hockey club of Drachten. Since 1964, matches have been played at the complex on Sportlaan, initially on 4 grass fields. In 1966, a dedicated clubhouse was put into use, which was shared with the korfball club until 1980. When the first artificial turf field was laid in 1985, 4 tennis courts were also constructed next to the clubhouse, which are used by the tennis club "de Beampipers", with whom the clubhouse was shared until the late 1990s. Since 2000, the Graspiepers have had two artificial turf fields: a water field and a sand-dressed field. In early 2009, it was decided to construct a new clubhouse on the other side of the complex. This modern and very spacious building was officially opened on January 29, 2010, the day of the club's 50th anniversary.
