The Merwede Canal is a canal in the Dutch provinces of Utrecht and South Holland. It connects the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal in the city of Utrecht with the Upper Merwede south of Gorinchem.
From north to south, the canal runs through or along the places Utrecht, Nieuwegein, Vianen, Lexmond, Hei- and Boeicop, Meerkerk, Nieuwland, Hoogblokland, Arkel, and Gorinchem. Between Nieuwegein and Utrecht, the Merwede Canal is crossed by the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal, and between Nieuwegein and Vianen by the river Lek.
