Walking along the only reservoir in the Netherlands is possible in the Anstel valley. This reservoir has been preventing flooding in Eygelshoven since 1974, ensuring
clean drinking water and is a particularly popular place for nature and bird lovers.
Migratory birds take a break on the water, the kingfisher nests in the banks of the stream, exotic ducks steal the show and even the rare osprey
has been observed. Walking through this unofficial bird sanctuary is varied: beech forest, arable land, past castles and farms... On the bridge you have a great view over the reservoir.
