Het Muldershuis Eibergen

In a unique place on the outskirts of Eibergen, you will find Het Muldershuis, a Saxon farm dating back to 1753. The Muldershuis is located next to the Mallumer mill, which is still in operation every Saturday. With us you can enjoy a drink, an extensive lunch or a delicious dinner in the atmospheric restaurant or on the terrace by the water.

Warm up by the fireplace in the men's toilet, take a seat in the authentic parlour on the upper floor or in the cosy boatman's café. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy one of our terraces by the water or in the garden.

History of Mallum Mill

The earliest mention of this watermill dates back to 1424. The mill belonged to the court of Mallum, a fief of the lord of Borculo. The mill was a forced or banish mill, which meant that the farmers of the area were obliged to have their grain milled there.

After the Havezate Mallum was demolished around 1750, the Muldershuis, the miller's small farm next door, was equipped with a luxurious transept. This made it possible for the Lord of Mallum to stay comfortably in Mallum. The Muldershuis was also a stopping point with Schippers Café for the skippers of the Berkelzompen, who had to wait for their ships to dock. In 1895, the mill complex became the property of the Berkel Water Association.
