The Hill Country through the eyes of an artist
Join us in the inspiring world of Sjef Hutschemakers. This artist, nature lover and amateur archaeologist saw the treasures that the Heuvelland had to offer and he felt its value like no other. Put on artist's glasses for a while and you will experience the rolling hills, the idyllic villages and the authentic farm life in Eijsden-Margraten in a new way!

The walk starts at the church in Sint Geertruid and leads through the field through the villages of Banholt and Mheer back to Sint Geertruid. In the route brochure 'Het Heuvelland through the eyes of an Artist', various locations tell about the special environment and the connection that Sjef had with it. The brochure also contains QR codes that refer to videos about Sjef and his working method, and that can be opened with a smartphone. The brochure is available at the Visit Zuid-Limburg Shops and Service Points.

In addition to the walking route, there is also a 35 km cycle route to get acquainted with Sjef's ideas and work. You can find that route here.
