Round ferry

The municipality of Lingewaard is a municipality with seven residential areas rurally located between Arnhem and Nijmegen in the nature reserve De Gelderse Poort. It is a perfect base for cycling tours on dikes along the Waal, Lower Rhine and Pannerdensch Canal. You have a chance to see herds of Galloway cattle and Konik horses. During this bike tour you will use no less than three different ferries.

Ferries
In this area you will find three ferries. These are very important for the infrastructure of the area. Before the ferries arrived, the help of a fisherman always had to be called in.

Millingerwaard – Doornenburg v.v. near junctions 79 and 71
Continuous departure times between 09:00 and 18:00.
May and June: Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
July and August: daily. September: Sundays.

Millingen a/d Rijn – Rijnwaarden (De Bijland) v.v. near 94 and 81
April to September:
daily, every hour from 08.00 – 18.00 hours.
October to March:
daily at 09.00, 11.00, 13.00, 15.00 and 17.00.
Sailing times are from Millingen a/d Rijn to Rijnwaarden.
Reverse direction is always 5 minutes later.

Doornenburg – Pannerden v.v. near 80 and 88
Monday to Friday: 06:00-22:45.
Saturday: 07:00-22:45, Sunday: 08:00-22:45.
