The canoe route starts at TOP Abcoude - De Witte Dame. You paddle through the winding streams Gein, Angstel, Winkel, and Waver across the moor and meadowland of the Ronde Venen. At the starting point is Fort Abcoude, which is part of the Amsterdam defense line. Next to the fort lies the old train station of Abcoude (De Witte Dame), which has been converted into a Bed & Breakfast with a restaurant.
