Bicycle marathon Valkenswaard-Diekirch-Valkenswaard 2-day 4-country Wim Kemps memorial ride

Omloop Valkenswaard Diekirch Valkenswaard is a challenging 2-day tour along a varied and low-traffic route through 4 countries from Valkenswaard to Diekirch along the national borders. The route continues through beautiful and diverse landscapes over the hills from village to village, where time seems to stand still at times. Through Limburg along the Meuse and the Voer region into the Belgian Ardennes. The route leads over the High Fens to St. Vith and into the Our valley. At the tri-border point of Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg, the crossing into Germany is made. The views are beautiful in the high plateau towards Dasbourg. The route continues along small roads to Diekirch in Luxembourg. Overnight stays can be arranged here to travel over Vianden into the German Eifel the next day. Towards Prüm, it goes over the highest point of the Schneifel, the 700 m high Black Man. Through the dense forests, the route continues to Schleiden and then in a northwestern direction to Aachen. On the way to Susteren, the road flattens out and the Meuse is crossed, with the wind mostly at the back. Finally, the route leads back to Valkenswaard via Bree and Hamont-Achel. The route is inspired by the Diekirch-Valkenswaard tour by Wim Kemps, which takes place every year on the last Saturday in August.
