Border case South West Brabant

In 2020, everything is different. Day trips are hardly possible. That’s why I have created a number of short rides of 2 to 3 hours that can be taken as half-day trips. This is Tour ride 5.

The borders with Belgium are closed. However, this does not mean there are no beautiful touring motorcycle routes to be made.

A very nice route that also has some delicious challenging bends.

The route starts near the A59 exit 23 Willemstad. Namely at Maltaweg by the Carpool Sluispad Zuid. From here we travel mainly on back roads. We pass beautiful nature areas, including near Bergen op Zoom, heath de Berk with hiking trails, but also war cemeteries. A bit further, a nature area Brabantse Wal with attractions such as a climbing forest and barefoot path.

With this route, we travel along the border with Belgium, as the title suggests.

After Nispen towards Nederheide, we drive a short stretch of unpaved road. This is very manageable, as it consists of many stones. We are now near the Ruckphense heath. After Chaam towards Bavel, there is also plenty of forest. Then after Oosterhout we pass Het Houtse Meer with the famous pavilion.

When the catering industry is open again, there will be plenty of opportunities for a snack along the way.
