A bike ride through the Marke; Broekhoek and Veldzijde

This bike (or walking) tour through the Marke Losser connects to the book 'Right and Wrong in the Marke Losser' by Frans Jacobs, a publication of the Historical Society Losser (2014). In this cycling tour, we want to show what still reminds us of the time of the Marke, in and around Losser. The book itself contains extensive stories about the valued farms, mark stones, and events that have taken place here. We find it important to establish a connection between history and the farms/buildings and elements in the landscape that can still be encountered while cycling and walking. This way, people can see and experience the history described in the book, making it a piece of living history. The route is divided into two stages. The first takes us to Broekhoek and Veldzijde (the western and northern parts of the Marke), the second (from page 15) to Overdinkel and Zoeker (eastern and southern). The length of this route is approximately 18 km, and the second one is 16 km. Here and there, the description also points to historical sights from other periods.
