Landgoed Tongeren on the flank of the Veluwe is one of the larger private estates in the Netherlands. The area has an old, small-scale rural landscape. Most of it consists of forest; in addition, heather and ecologically valuable nature. Agriculture has an important function. There used to be seven farms; now only one is in operation.
