The Allegory of the Feiras Novas and Folklore is a work by the sculptor Salvador Vieira, inaugurated in 2009 .
The Feiras Novas are festivals in the municipality of Ponte de Lima, which have been held since 1825 on the second weekend of September, in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows. They are the most important and largest celebrations in Ponte de Lima. In addition to music, folklore and fireworks, there are also cattle races, horse races , ethnographic and historical parades, gigantones and cabeçudos... etc...
