Source of the Noi River

The Noi River is an old stretch of the original Choa Phraya River. The original Chao Phraya - now referred to as the Chao Phraya Noi - flowed west of its present course beginning just north of the Chai Nat Dam and running via Sankha Buri and Phrom Buri to Ang Thong. The river breached a wall in its western bank near Ang Thong running to Bang Sai via Wiset Chai Chan, Phak Hai, and Sena - this is at present the course of the Noi River. The Chao Phraya River between Chai Nat and Ang Thong silted up and shifted to the east to nearly its present channel via In Buri and Sing Buri to Ang Thong.
