Kaltbrunn è un comune svizzero di 4 788 abitanti del Canton San Gallo, nel distretto di See-Gaster.
Sullo Schlössbüchel sono state rinvenute delle tracce di insediamenti preistorici. Il paese una volta era molto paludoso e solo grazie ad alcune opere di canalizzazione realizzate nel XIX secolo fu liberato dal rischio di inondazioni. Nel 1803 fu aggregato a Kaltbrunn il comune di Rieden, tornato autonomo nel 1825.
