Landsberg am Lech ist eine Große Kreisstadt und der Verwaltungssitz des gleichnamigen Landkreises im Regierungsbezirk Oberbayern. Das Mittelzentrum liegt an der Romantischen Straße und zählt laut Deutschem Wetterdienst zu den sonnigsten Städten Deutschlands. Landsberg hat eine gut erhaltene Altstadt.
Das Mittelzentrum liegt rund 55 Kilometer westlich von München und etwa 38 Kilometer südlich von Augsburg. Die Stadt ist das Zentrum des Lechrains, der Grenzlandschaft zwischen Altbayern und Schwaben. Sie liegt am Hochufer des Lechs und besitzt eine gut erhaltene und sehenswerte Altstadt.
