It has a total area of 83,871 square kilometres , about 2.031706 times the size of Switzerland.The landlocked country shares national borders with Switzerland and the principality of Liechtenstein to the west, Germany and the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the north, Hungary to the east , and Slovenia and Italy to the south .
