Spiere is a village in the Belgian province of West Flanders and a part of the municipality of Spiere-Helkijn. It was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganization of 1977. Spiere is located along the Scheldt in the southernmost part of the province, near the border with Wallonia. In Spiere, the Grote Spiere and the Spiere Canal, which runs parallel to the Spiere and connects the Scheldt with the Deule, flow into the Scheldt.
