At the St. John's Hospital, with over 8 centuries of history, the poor, pilgrims, travelers, and the sick were cared for by sisters and brothers. The medieval wards and the associated church and chapel house an impressive collection of archival pieces, artworks, medical instruments, plus six works by Hans Memling. Further to visit: the Diksmuide attic, the old dormitory, and the adjacent guardians' room and pharmacy.
