Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis by Oliver Laric showcases the mutation of a common toad, or European toad, into a table. Laric thoroughly unravels this transformation. Each transformative phase is a sculpture in itself, of equal weight and importance. 'Morphing', the physical transformation that a character undergoes, is a recurring theme in his videos, installations, and sculptures. By depicting creations that are less defined by categories, Laric makes room for a new relationship of interdependence that explicitly negates the superiority of humanity.
