Thorpark is an area of 10 km² behind the former mine of Waterschei. The area has so many qualities that it will connect to the National Park. Here you will find everything that the Hoge Kempen has to offer: mining waste mountains amidst heath and pine forests, a beautiful stream valley, juniper bushes, and land dunes. Some notable buildings accentuate the landscape: the children's colony of As and the coal mine of Waterschei (Thor Central). You can already walk extensively there, but a gateway in the known design of the other gates is (not) yet available.
