Welcome to Maas country, a region of water, nature and picturesque villages. This stage takes you through the most beautiful natural environment in the Maas Valley. While cycling you are rewarded with stunning view points and surprising heritage. The town of Maaseik is the cultural pearl of this stage. This town is closely associated with the painters Jan en Hubert Van Eyck. It is home to an abundance of museums, cosy brasseries and cultural history attractions. Want to cross the border? Take one of the four ferries to cross the Maas to the Dutch bank.
