Circular walk from Soiron (B.)

CIRCULAR WALK FROM SOIRON (TERRE DE HERVE) BELGIUM

Distance : approx. 9 km, fairly hilly and poorly paved road.
It is a varied walk with lots of nature and beautiful panoramas.
Soiron is a beautiful authentic village with lots of beautiful historic houses and a large castle.

Soiron is accessible via Eijsden, Julémont, Herve, follow direction Liège, at the roundabout direction Soumagne. After approx. 2 km at exit L and via Xhendelesse to Soiron.

Parking: In the parking lot of the village spring downstairs in the village.

R = to the right and L = to the left

DEPARTURE: 1. Walk from the parking lot a little back into the village.
2. Turn between two houses just before the Restaurant "Le Vieux Soiron" L and follow the hiking trail. For now, keep following the yellow-red mark.
3. Above the stream through the turnstile, pasture diagonally to L.
4. Follow the hiking trail through two turnstiles.
5. At the top of the paved road R.
6. 1st paved road R.
7. At exit R (paved road).
8. At the concrete street lamp R in the field road (up along the farm).
9. At the top of exit R downwards, continue to follow the dirt road (you are now leaving the yellow-red road).
10. Cross the main road and follow the dirt road diagonally uphill, which passes in front of the sign "Olne" ("Chemin des Gouts"), which is paved above later.
11. 1st road R (unpaved, red and blue road).
12. On the triangle of roads straight.
13. Continue straight at the fork (Route d'Artagnan).
14. At the Y-junction, at the rest of a white road, cross R (follow the yellow-red road again).
15. Cross the paved road and follow Turlurette Street (yellow-red markings).
16. At the new L house downstairs, by the turnstile and the pasture passage.
17. Between 4 rose posts and obliquely L meadow left by 2 x turnstile.
18. On paved road to L and immediately R upwards ("Martinsart").
19. Upstairs in front of the fence of the white house R and between 3 stones (3x) towards the church.
20. Through the garden of the hairdresser and after the church on the main road R.
21. Down at the lowest point L, follow the path along the stream ("Le Bief") (again yellow-red road).
22. At junction R, continue along the road fence.
23. At the intersection of the chapel, continue straight ahead (leave the yellow-red road).
24. After 200 m, follow the 1st road (unpaved) to R.
25. On the paved road, take L, then the greenway between houses Nos. 11 and 13.
26. On the L side, follow the prairie road along the fences.
27. Continue to follow the country road along an iron fence, it then climbs.
28. At the top of a muddy staircase overlooking a field and crossing it straight along the greenway posts.
29. In a large house with brown façade panels behind an R-hedge (you are on the yellow-red road again).
30. Cross the meadow diagonally L downwards and leave through a turnstile approximately at the lowest point along the edge of the forest.
31. Follow the forest path down.
32. After the end of the forest road through the turnstile via the meadow to the paved road.
33. On the paved road R.
34. 2nd road L (in the village: rue Soiron Centre").
35. Along the church between 2 stone posts down.
36. On "square" L and crossing the stream.
37. On the paved road R return to the car park: END OF THE WALK.

CAFES: Epicerie café "Le Coq à l'Âne" at the corner of the church or "La Taverne de Soiron" (both closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).
