Tschingellogtighorn from Kandersteg

Great and quite a heavy hike to a special Alpine peak in the Berner Oberland. We take the Sunnbüel cable car to overcome the first 800 meters of elevation. From the Sunnbuel final station, you take the path towards the Gallihorn, walking up to the Gallihöre, 2164m, where you have a fantastic view of Kandersteg and its surroundings. You can climb all the way to the top of the Gallihorn, 2282m, with an amazing 360° view, but we simply continue to the Uschenegrat as the day is still long. We walk along the ridge, the path is fairly flat until the steep climb of the Wyssi Flue, 2470m. From there, we continue to Schwarzgrättli, 2381m; the views along the way are phenomenal. Here we take the rough path towards the Engstligengrat, 2624m. Immediately, we have a beautiful sight of our goal, the Tschingellochtighorn. We walk towards it along the ridge, on both sides, accompanied by fantastic vistas. Take the path that runs to the right of the peak, where the long and initially quite steep descent towards Kandersteg begins. Along the way in the Ushenedal, you can have a drink and/or meal on a terrace. Expect about 10 hours of effective walking time; bring food and drinks as you'll have been walking for a while by the time you reach Ushenedal. There is parking at the Sunnbüel valley station, and Kandersteg is also perfectly reachable by public transport; there is a campsite and hotels in all price ranges.
