Goßmar is a village and a former municipality in the Dahme-Spreewald district, in Brandenburg, Germany. The village is located in the Lower Lusatian Ridge Nature Park.
Goßmar was founded around 1200 and Arnošt Muka interprets the name as a derivation of the personal name Godomar, the famous god, whom he considers to be one of the first German lords of the village. Goßmar was first mentioned in a document in 1368. The old peasant estates on the village road gave the village the shape of a rectangle.
