The Beuron Way of St. James leads from Hechingen through the friendly, open hilly landscape of the Alb foothills to the Albtrauf, climbs steeply to the Hörnle after Balingen and follows the charming Bära valley on the Alb plateau. At Beuron, it crosses the dramatically beautiful rocky valley of the Upper Danube and leads gently downhill through the Hegaualb, which offers beautiful views of the volcanic cones of the Hegau, to Meßkirch.
