Überlinger Picknick-Tour 6 - Entspanntes Garten-Hopping

Equipped with a well-stocked picnic rucksack, visitors can get to know flowering parks and gardens such as the Badgarten, the Stadtgarten with its elegant rose garden and the villa gardens redesigned as part of the 2021 State Garden Show, as well as the Uferpark.

The Überlingen gardens are a wonderful place to linger. To make sure you don't miss out on the culinary delights, it's best to take a well-filled picnic backpack from garden to garden and take advantage of the numerous seating options along the way for a culinary break with a view of Lake Constance.

From the hustle and bustle of the landing site, the walk leads along the flower-lined lakeside promenade to the Badgarten. You can watch the hustle and bustle on the water and along the promenade while enjoying your first taste on one of the sophisticated park benches.

Past the Capuchin Church and the bathing hotel built in the middle of the 19th century, the path leads into the city garden, where shady arbors and numerous benches invite you to linger and enjoy. On the left-hand side, the town garden opens up into the rose garden, where you can relax in secluded niches - surrounded by the wonderful scent of the roses - while listening to the splashing of the fountain. Well rested, visitors can now climb up to the upper part of the Stadtgarten. Those who shy away from the steep Devil's Staircase can take the moderately ascending serpentine paths.On reaching the top, you are rewarded with a magnificent view over the old town and Lake Constance. Tables and benches at the viewing pavilion in the eastern section invite you to take a well-earned break. Under shady trees and after a refreshing dip in the Kneipp pool, the path leads along the "SeeGang" premium hiking trail through Überlingen's spa district with its magnificent houses and the internationally renowned Buchinger Wilhelmi fasting clinic.

The Eglisbohl vantage point with its magnificent view over Lake Constance invites you to take another break before leaving the SeeGang to the left and returning to the lakeshore via the Überlingen suburb of Goldbach. At the Goldbach Silvester Chapel, you enter the lakeside park created as part of the Landesgartenschau, which leads walkers along the shore in an easterly direction. Large grassy areas are ideal for spreading out a picnic blanket and the Kneipp pool directly in Lake Constance provides a refreshing cool-down for tired feet.

After leaving the lakeside park, the road leads past Strandbad West and the Bodensee-Therme thermal baths before the path leads directly back to the lakeshore. Through the villa gardens, where the plant house with its spectacular cactus collection, also created for the State Garden Show, invites you to take a look, the path leads along the lakeshore back to Überlingen Landungsplatz.
