The approximately 26.7 km long Kappesweg leads through the "Rhenish fruit and vegetable garden" of the Vorgebirge, which is characterized by its fertile soils and good climatic conditions. It passes by farms that market their regional products in their own farm shop. In Walberberg is the Witch Tower, an old castle tower built in the 12th century from the material of the Roman aqueduct. The castle ruins of Hemmerich, originally built around 1729 on an old fortified castle, have only remained as ruins after fires in 1869 and 1945. The exposed location of Burg Rösberg allows for a unique panoramic view from Cologne Cathedral to Siegburg Abbey. During the Second World War, the castle fell victim to a bombing raid and was only rebuilt in the 1990s. A part of the designed Baroque garden has been preserved.
