This trail is about the five ridges that surround the town of Sonsbeck. Successively you cycle via:
- the Tüschenwald (also called Sonsbeck Switzerland),
- the ridge near Uedem (Pfalzdorfer Höhenrand),
- the ridge of the Uedemer Hochwald (with ascent to the military radar station at the top of the forest, dead-end ascent),
- the ridge south of Xanten, which is called Hees,
- the up to 54 meter high wooded ridge, called Bönninghardt.
(- and you end with two climbs in Sonsbeck Switzerland, the first of which is the hardest (up to 11%) and most beautiful).

Please note: As you descend the Hees ridge, turn into Veener road. A sign indicates that it is a dead end. This is the case in the narrower sense, since the road passes over private land of a farm. I haven't had any problems with this passage, but if the owner has any objections, you will have to follow the K23 to Veen and head north again in Veen to get on the route.

The climbs are not steep (usually up to 7%) and between each ridge there are only kilometers on the flat bike. Cycle paths along main roads are avoided as much as possible, but are sometimes unavoidable in this area. In addition, the route leads over the asphalted cycle path over the route of the former railway line of the Boxtel Railway. This cycle path ends in Xanten, a beautiful town with its archaeological park, the city gates, the cathedral and the cozy market square. Ideal for a stopover.
