Hestrud is a French commune located in the Nord department, in the Hauts-de-France region. The climate that characterizes the commune is classified, in 2010, as "semi-continental climate or montargnard margins," according to the typology of climates in France which then counted eight main types of climates in the mainland. In 2020, the commune falls under the "semi-continental climate" type in the classification established by Météo-France, which now counts only five main types of climates in the mainland at first glance. For this type of climate, summers are warm and winters are harsh, with a large number of days of snow or frost. Annual rainfall is relatively high.
