Stage from Chateaubriant to Nort-sur-Erdre via La Regalante

La Régalante has a rich history in multiple ways. While the medieval Marches de Bretagne are ever-present on this cycling route, contemporary history should not be overlooked, particularly the maquis of Châteaubriant, an important place of resistance against the Nazi occupation immortalized in the work of the poet René Guy Cadou. The choice is yours: visit the castle, the quarry of Fusillés, the digital museum Micro-Folie, or take a break in nature at the ponds of Choisel or the nearby aquacenter. In La Meilleraye de Bretagne, you'll find the famous Abbaye de Melleray and the Parc des Lavandières, perfect for stretching your legs. After all these attractions, it’s time to hop back on the saddle and cycle to La Meilleraye de Bretagne.

On warm days, this route along the water is very refreshing. The large reservoir at Lac de Vioreau is a great place to swim for cyclists on the way. Another cool spot is Joué-sur-Erdre, with its banks along the Erdre and the Vioreau forest. The village even has the nickname "the little Canada of Loire-Atlantique," with guaranteed shady spots! You ride along quiet country roads, with the Erdre never far behind - a river that is both natural, wild, and regal, thanks to the “follies” built along its banks. Stop in Nort-Sur-Erdre to enjoy the marina, the Arcades circuit, and the many services. The next day, it's time to head to Naoned!

The Erdre at the crossing point for a picnic break. Arrival in Nort-sur-Erdre, with its majestic church, harbor, flour mill, tourism office, lake and harbor garden (water sports, children's play area, restaurant, picnic table, festive events), Port Mulon park, and castle. Secure bike parking at the lake and at the tourism office.
