The government of Cinque Terre had enough of saving tourists on flip-flops who had injured themselves on the narrow, rocky hiking trails of the region. That is why it is now forbidden to walk on footpaths between the villages of Cinque Terre with flipflops. Beware! You can get a fine if you still do it!
