The "Fausto Cannone" Museum of Multiethnic Musical Instruments is dedicated to music and is located in the former church of San Giacomo de Spada.
The Church of San Giacomo de Spada was built as a chapel before 1529. The chapel was enlarged in 1625-1636. The church following the 1866 law abolishing religious corporations, confiscated and given to the municipality, which used the church as the seat of the municipal library from 1875 to 1968.
Fausto Cannone , died in 2017, was a teacher, poet and singer-songwriter. He traveled the world for almost thirty years acquiring the strangest and most original musical instruments, both string and wind instruments, all in working condition and purchased in their country of origin.
Two hundred and twenty musical instruments collected in the most diverse places, thanks to the meticulous research of Fausto Cannone in the forests of Brazil, in the deserts of Australia , in India, where he met Mother Teresa of Calcutta , and even to the heart of Africa, where he lived with the pygmies for a month.
