TransFrance 2010

A bicycle tour starting in Moorsel (Tervuren, Belgium) passing over Mont Ventoux to end at the Mediterranean on the Presqu’île d’Hyéres. There are 16 stages to cover a total lenght of about 1670 km. In total 25000 m are to be climbed. The route is avoiding big towns and busy roads, rather it offers the opportunity to fully experience the beauty of the mountain ranges in Eastern France: Vosges, Jura, Chartreuse, Vercors and Barronies. Every stage starts and ends at a hotel or bed & breakfast, hence enables to spend the night in a good bed. On most stages there is the possibility to buy food and drinks. However, shops, restaurants and cafés are fairly rare over the complete length of the tour. So, be sure to get what you need when there is an opportunity to do so.
