On the corner between the Veerlepad and the Wezelsbaantje is about a hundred meters from the road, hidden between the woods, the idyllic fen 'De Rode Vis'. Already at the end of the 18th century, the lake was drawn by Count Ferraris on his well-known maps for the Austrian genius. It must have already been located between forests. What you see today has come about thanks to the work of the Agency for Nature and Forests (AGB). In the 1980s, the fen was cleaned, damaging the impenetrable loam layer on the bottom into a 'colander'. That has been restored and we now have a beautiful biotope for amphibians, dragonflies and aquatic plants such as the water lily. Around the pond is a wide strip on which the bush heath and pipe straw shoots up. Along the bank there are some benches to relax.
