Park Abbey in Leuven (Heverlee).

The walk starts and returns to the Leuven train station, located to the east of the city.
Drivers can pay to park in the underground parking garage under the station. You can also easily reach the Leuven station with De Lijn.

It is a somewhat hilly walk, with a descent towards the Abbey of Park just past the central cemetery of Leuven. And that is already on the territory of the Leuven district of Heverlee (see the elevation chart).

After a detour around the fish ponds of the Abbey of Park, there is a climb up to the Tivoli pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the train tracks, and then a bit further following the train tracks back to the Leuven station.

Halfway through the walk, you can rest at the entrance of the Abbey of Park complex with a snack and/or a drink in the beautifully restored Abbey Mill, which is beautifully located near the former fish ponds of the abbey.

In the stately abbey buildings themselves, you can discover the Parcum themed exhibitions, at the intersection of religion, art, and culture (closed on Mondays).
