Tintange

The extreme south-east of Wallonia – i.e. the border regions near Burg-Reuland, the region east of the Houffalize-Bastogne line and the region east of the N4 from Bastogne to Martelange – is part of the Rhine basin, the Moselle sub-basin. This means that any rain that falls there eventually flows through the Moselle into the Rhine. It is a landscape of relatively high hills (about 500 m above sea level), dotted with small quiet villages where action is rare, and vast deciduous and coniferous woods, but it is generally the spruces that dominate the region. In the region you will cross, the Sûre is surrounded by several tributaries that are real pearls: the Grande and Petite Molscht, the Ruisseau de Guemonce, the Ruisseau d'Entre le Bois and the Revaru which together feed the Surbach, a tributary of the Sûre, with clear water.
This walk will introduce you to some of these waterways.

TYPE OF ROAD
You actually follow a diversity of forest roads, often dirt but sometimes also with base surface, and bitumined roads in and around village centers. Some forest roads are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs at all. As for the relief: sometimes you have to climb or go down quite strongly, but it's still not the Alps. Rainy weather can make parts of forest roads extremely muddy, but the situation depends on the type of logging along the route (if in rainy weather and for several days you have dragged fir trees down a dirt road, you are guaranteed to walk in mud up to your ankles).

MARKUP
In the village of Warnach suddenly rises beyond the church an old walking beacon already partially erased: a white number 14 (souvant accompanied by an arrow). These tags will be useful in the last part of the walk. In the center of Tintange you will also discover the white and red lines of the trail of Grandes Randonnées Ardennes-Eifel (north). A few signposts (arrows) are useful for the rest of the route.

In the center of Tintange, around the church. There are no parking spaces provided.
