Vespa Club Tessenderlo

Club ride: VC Mechelen 170 km - May 5, 2024 - departure 10 AM. 

Ride master: Gert Van De Craen

The winding route takes us from the club house towards the abbey of Averbode, and we further cross Ramsel, Haagt, and make a stop at Café de Brug in Boortmeerbeek. A nice spot with a large terrace that looks out over the sluice bridge where there is always something to see. We were welcomed very well and served kindly by the operator.

After enjoying the sunshine and a nice cup of coffee, we put ride master Gert back at the front of the line to take us further to the 8th Maneblusser ride organized by Vespa Club Mechelen. 
Upon arrival, many were surprised to see that there were many more mountain bikers present than the expected Vespas. Later, it became clear to us that it was a charity event for a good cause. Every association had its own times and programs, totaling three participants. As a Club, it was decided the day before not to participate in the maneblusser ride as the weather gods were unpredictable, and no unnecessary risks wanted to be taken. A wise decision despite the fact that the sun was fully present at that moment. We made it a pleasant day, had drinks and food, and in this way showed our support for this beautiful initiative.

Around 2 PM we set off again on the return ride, with a nice surprise stop at the ice cream vendor! The Harmonie 6 was a lovely place with an enormous terrace where it was nice to relax. Our bellies were filled with all the delicious treats that Harmonie had to offer.  
Satisfied, we got back on our Vespas and prepared for the last stretch. The sun was still shining, so upon arrival we settled again on the terrace of the Clubhouse to enjoy a bit longer and chat. 
A successful day thanks to the ride masters, road captains, and the members present.
