ZZW I R - Warneton (FR) - R

With this route, I am happy to take you in a south-southwest direction, starting from Roeselare; of course, you can join in wherever you wish.

We start via the Stro Route and take rural, hilly paths into the center, crossing through the battlefield of Passendale with its most important memorial site, the Tyne Cot Cemetery. From here we head to Zonnebeke, go around Bellewaarde, leaving Zillebeke to our right, and eventually reach the Zwarte Leen. Here we pass by Hill 60 and through the Provincial Domaine Pallingbeek, finally arriving in Voormezele. From now on, we ascend to Wijtschate and then descend in a straight line to Wulvergem, paying special attention to the beautiful landscape on the left with the church of Mesen in the distance. Once past Mesen, we set our course eastward and cycle into Warneton, France, where we spend about 14 kilometers; we ride along the Domaine Dalle-Dumont and cross back over the border via Werwiq-Sud. We ride between Kruiseke and Geluwe, and between Beselare and Dadizele, along the Waterdam to Moorslede. From here, it’s a quick route to Koekuitkasteel, and we roll back to Roeselare along the Zilverberg.
