🚴‍♂️ Race bike route: From Roeselare to the charming Landegem – a loop full of rural beauty

In the mood for a varied trip through forests, fields, rivers, and picturesque villages? This northeast loop of approximately 110 km starts from Roeselare and immerses you in the heart of the Flemish countryside, filled with moments to enjoy and pedal on.

We depart from the Stroroute in Roeselare, known for its quiet, picturesque roads. Soon we reach the Sterrebos, where the first rays of sunlight color the canopy – a peaceful start to the day.

Through the hamlet of Spain and the vast fields of the Ardooie Field, we pick up the pace, enjoying the expansive views. Then it’s on to Tielt, where a glimpse of city life contrasts with the rural character of the rest of the ride.

A refreshing passage along the Meikensbos takes us to Aarsele and then Vinkt, where we navigate through wide and quiet roads. The route winds further through the villages of Poesele and finally Landegem, the farthest point of our journey. An ideal moment for a break at a cozy bakery or café!

From Landegem, we curve with the bends of the picturesque Leie, cycling through Deinze and Sint-Baafs-Vijve towards Sint-Eloois-Vijve. Water and expansive views set the scene here.

In Ooigem, we leave the river behind, heading towards the iconic Muizemolen – a beautiful landmark in the landscape. The roads here become gently sloping, ideal for a smooth ride.

Through Lendelede, Oekene, and the charming hamlet of Zilverberg, we eventually return to Roeselare, where a feeling of satisfaction awaits you.
