Route information

Discover four unique mountain bike routes through the stunning landscape in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes. Rolling hills, green forests, winding paths and breathtaking views set the scene for a wonderful mountain biking adventure.

From challenging climbs to adventurous singletrack, each route has its own character and offers plenty of challenge and cycling enjoyment.

 

Green loop

Short but sweet

At 13.2 km, with no less than 85% unpaved roads, the green loop is the shortest of the four routes, but has the highest proportion of unpaved terrain. It’s ideal for children and families, and for anyone who loves riding off-road and getting out into nature. Still got a few extra kilometres in your legs? No problem! Along the way, you can decide to join a longer route and continue your adventure.

 

Blue loop

Discover more

The blue loop takes you over 22.6 km, 65% of which is unpaved. It’s a lovely mix of challenging paths, rolling landscapes and green surroundings. Along the way, connections from Maarkedal and Horebeke also join the route, making it part of a wider network of mountain biking routes.

 

Red loop

Conquer the Koppenberg

Ready for a serious challenge? The red loop is 24.3 km, 69% of which is unpaved, and takes you past the iconic Koppenberg. Experience this legendary climb in a different way and discover how the Flemish Ardennes combine their challenging terrain with beautiful nature and unique views. What’s more, this route connects to the route through Kluisbergen, giving you the chance to extend your mountain biking adventure even further.

 

Purple loop

For the distance lovers

If you enjoy spending a little longer on your mountain bike, the purple loop is for you. At 33.7 km, with 55% unpaved roads, it is the longest of the four routes. The course follows the outer sections of the different loops and takes you on an extensive journey of discovery through the rolling landscape around Oudenaarde.

 

Combining the loops

See the purple loop. You can also combine routes via the connections to the surrounding routes in Kluisbergen, Maarkedal and Wortegem-Petegem.
