A renovation of the route through the renewed walking paths (of which 'Wispinkel' was even nominated this year for the title '20 Years of Walking Paths') and the other is the 'Beverpad', which is now better marked and has been re-integrated into the hiking junction network. Thanks to this renewal, you can now follow the 'Zwalm' (800 meters extra) until it flows into the Scheldt.

The route has received an update with some unpaved hiking trails along the Zwalmbeek.

A walk in which we follow the bends of the river Zwalm as closely as possible via paths that are mostly equipped with permeable tiles, some paths are 'only' for hikers. We also pass 'Het Blarewater', a cut-off meander, where you can observe waterfowl along the waterline. The fusion municipality of Zwalm, whose name naturally comes from the river Zwalm, has 12 component municipalities under its flag and is also depicted in the coat of arms with 12 stars around a larger star. Zwalm, connected with the Flemish Ardennes, can be experienced halfway through the route, with a beautiful view into the Scheldt valley afterwards. Parking at the sports hall, Sportlaan 1, 9630 Zwalm or simply by train, which also stops at the sports hall. After 3 km you will reach a waypoint, turn right here first.
