Alexander von Humboldt High School Berlin

The Alexander von Humboldt Gymnasium is a secondary school with a natural sciences profile, located in the Spindlersfeld area of the Köpenick district near the Spree River in Berlin. The school named after Alexander von Humboldt is the successor of the Dorotheenschule in Köpenick.
The main building at the corner of Oberspree and Mentzelstraße was constructed according to plans by and under the direction of architect Max Taut in the years 1928–1929 in the Bauhaus style. At the main entrance, there is a ceramic relief by Rudolf Belling depicting St. Dorothy distributing bread to refugees. The entrance hall features a multi-flight staircase and connects the five-story, slightly curved classroom wing with the gym along Mentzelstraße to the wing along Oberspreestraße.
