The Church of St. Elisabeth is the Roman Catholic church in Tangerhütte, a small town in the south of the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The church, named after St. Elisabeth of Thuringia, belongs to the parish of St. Anna in Stendal, in the deanery of Stendal in the diocese of Magdeburg.
With the introduction of the Reformation, the region became Protestant. With the construction of the ironworks Tangerhütte, which took place from 1842 to 1845, near the river Tangier and the village of Vaethen, a large number of workers moved to the village of Vaethen, which had previously been predominantly agricultural, which was thus transformed into an industrial location. In 1928 the village was given its current name Tangerhütte and in 1935 the town charter.
